In addition to this financial support, the City Mayor in his October 20, 2023 visit to the victims took out time to hear them and comfort them. He was accompanied to the victims\u2019 resettlement site by the Yaounde II Divisional officer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-dark-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">\u00ab\u00a0When the Mbankolo disaster occurred, I was not in the town. Nevertheless, I was informed and I asked my deputy, Mayor Palalou Midjinyaoua, to join the government delegation that came to the site. Now that I am in Yaound\u00e9, it is my duty, as Mayor of the City of Yaound\u00e9, to come and express to the survivors of the Mbankolo disaster, to the victims, some of whom are here and others in hospital, to their families, to their relatives, the sympathy of the City Council and our solidarity in the ordeal they are facing,\u201d the City Mayor explained.
