Yaounde City Council shares decentralization lessons with visiting Gabonese delegation - Communauté Urbaine de Yaoundé

The Yaounde City Council has shared notes on decentralization and exercise of powers devolved to local authorities, with officials from Gabon. The Gabonese delegation, accompanied by Cameroon’s Minister of Decentralisation and Local Development, Georges Elanga Obam and Gabon’s Ambassador to Cameroon, Paul Patrick Biffot, made a stop at the City Council, May 11, 2023. During the two-hour session, Mayor Luc Messi Atangana and top officials of the City Council share dwith them, the operational realities and capabilities of the institution, tracing how it fosters local representation and citizen participation in development.
